Summary

Allelica was born in January 2018 from an idea of the molecular biologist Giordano Bottà with the geneticist George Busby and the computer scientist Paolo Di Domenico. The aim is to enable all people to benefit from the scientific revolution that has taken place in Genomics, creating products and digital platforms that make it easy and effective to use the extraordinary information contained in our DNA.

Giordano chose Italy to found Allelica, after years of research at the Wellcome Trust Center for Human Genetics of Oxford University. The goal is to develop a DNA test to improve and maintain your health, explained in simple language and accessible to all.

"Food, especially in Italy, is an absolute pleasure, a bond, a theme to talk about, an emotion, sharing and warmth. In this project we have taken pleasure into account as a driver for prevention and better nutrition" - says Bottà. "In Italy we do little prevention, which only becomes a practice when we are afraid of something serious, when instead we know well that prevention is better than cure, especially when the cost has become so accessible - continues Giordano.

Allelica is on the market with two simple tests to do comfortably at home; a complete test PREVENTION + NUTURE to discover the risk of developing diseases and undertake the most appropriate prevention path, associated with a personalized nutrition plan that helps to know how the body uniquely metabolizes carbohydrates and fats and predispositions to food intolerances.
Alternatively, you can choose to buy only the NUTRIATION test that allows you to know your metabolism and adopt a personalized nutrition plan.
To do the test is simple and fast, once purchased the chosen package, you receive the kit with the salivary buffer, you run and you send free to analyze more than 650 thousand genetic variations in DNA. After a few weeks the results will be available at the click of a button.
The analyses are carried out in an accredited and certified Italian laboratory. "Those who take our test will always have ownership of their genetic data, they will remain securely encrypted in our database as long as the user wants and you can download, consult or delete them when you want," explains Paolo.
